An Introduction
Hello, and welcome to the Scarab Books blog.
I thought I'd start with a quick introduction about who I am, why I'm doing this and what the blog will contain.
About me

My name is John Precedo. I'm 48 years old, have two kids and live in South London. In case you hadn't noticed from the content of the book covers, I'm a passionate Remainer. I think Brexit is an incredibly bad idea, and should be stopped!
My Twitter account is @ReplabJohn and when I tweet about about these book covers I always use the hashtag #LadybirdBrexit. Feel free to follow me!
I'm also on Facebook (www.facebook.com/john.precedo). I have a publicly accessible folder of these book covers there (my 'Learning to Live with Brexit' album), in case you want to share them on Facebook rather than any other media.
Why I'm doing this
It all started off when I was inspired by a fellow Twitter user, Lord Snoutintrough (@Rowland72James)
He tweeted some spoof ladybird book covers with titles such as "Life After Brexit" and "Food Rioting (Part of the ladybird Brexit Life series)". He's great. Definitely worth a follow if you do the Twitter thing! I thought "Wow. These are really good! Spoof Ladybird book covers are a brilliant way to get the message out about some of the bad consequences of Brexit. I'd do it a bit differently though..."
I started with my first spoof Ladybird book cover - "Stockpiling Food". I tweeted it, and thought do one or two more and then I'd stop. One or two became fourteen (now the whole 'Learning to Live with Brexit' series), and I thought that Twitter was a bit impermanent. Those tweets are so easily lost in people's timelines. I then started this website as a (hopefully) permanent archive of them.
About this blog

This blog is just a place to share information about the images and some of the stuff behind them.
I thought it'd be better to do a blog rather than put the info by the images themselves since I didn't want to clutter up the website. In addition, this will allow me to go into more detail if I feel like it.
Typical entries will probably be along the lines of "I've added 3 new book covers". I'll probably also use the blog to boast if I ever get mentioned in the press, or get retweeted by someone notable.
Did I mention I've been retweeted by Lord Adonis?
I'll also have some occasional longer posts when I have something to explain or want to talk in depth about something.
Anyway, that's it. Intro over. Hope you like the site!
